Dental crowns are used to cover (or cap) teeth in order to reinforce tooth structure, fix broken down teeth and improve function and cosmetic appearance. They are made either of porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or of gold. Crowns achieve aesthetically excellent results.
Broken teeth or leaking fillings can be restored using inlays, which are made from either porcelain or gold. They are much stronger than conventional fillings but more conservative than crowns.
Here at LS1 Dental in Leeds, high quality porcelain crowns and inlays can be fabricated on site in our Ceramic Studio by utilising CEREC 3D. This computerised technology eliminates the need for dental impressions and the associated time required by dental laboratories to fabricate crowns and inlays. Further, temporary restorations are unnecessary because treatment is completed within a single visit. CEREC 3D crowns are the perfect solution when time to attend dental appointments is hard to find in a busy schedule. To read more about dental crowns click here.
